Christmas, New Years and Public Holidays
International shipping networks can be significantly impacted during Christmas, New Year, and public holidays in Australia and your destination country. During these periods, both processing and delivery times may be longer than usual. We recommend ordering early if you need your items by a specific date.
Duties, Taxes & Import Fees
International orders may be subject to import charges such as customs duties, VAT/GST, and carrier handling or brokerage fees. These fees are assessed by your local customs authority and/or carrier and are outside of Smartway Pet Supplies’ control. These costs are not* included in checkout and may be charged on delivery of the product. Failure to pay these fees will result in the order being returned to sender.
*US tariff fees ARE included at checkout and will incur no additional fees post purchase.
Customs, Documentation & Clearance
To help your order clear customs, we provide required shipping documentation such as item descriptions and order value details. Customs authorities may inspect parcels or request additional information, which can delay delivery. In some countries, customers may be asked to provide a local tax ID or other identification to complete clearance.
Tracking Your Order
Once you have made your purchase, and your order has been dispatched, you will be emailed a tracking link using our track my order. We do not have access to additional tracking information beyond what is provided.

Delivery Issues (Delays, Missing, Damaged)
If your order is delayed, we recommend checking your tracking first, as customs clearance can add time. If your parcel appears stalled or has not arrived within 21 days, please contact us and we will assist.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with photos of the item(s), packaging, and shipping label so we can review and help resolve the issue.
If your parcel is marked as delivered but cannot be located, we may ask you to confirm delivery details (address, safe place, or local carrier information) so we can help investigate.
Addresses & Undeliverable Packages
Please ensure your delivery address is complete and accurate, including unit/apartment numbers and the correct postal/ZIP code. For international deliveries, a phone number is strongly recommended as carriers may require it for delivery or customs clearance.
If a parcel is returned to sender due to an incorrect/incomplete address, refused delivery, or unpaid duties/taxes, we will follow the process outlined in our Shipping Policy and/or Returns Policy, including any applicable re-shipping fees or refund adjustments.

Will I need to pay customs fees?
International orders may be subject to customs duties, VAT/GST, and carrier fees set by your local authorities. If charges apply, your carrier will usually contact you before delivery to arrange payment. US Tariff costs are paid on purchase for all US customers and are factored in to the purchase cost.
Why hasn't tracking updated?
Tracking updates can pause while your parcel is moving between facilities, crossing borders, or awaiting customs clearance. Some international services update less frequently until the parcel reaches the destination country.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
If your order has not yet been dispatched, we may be able to update your address. Once an order has shipped, address changes are often limited and may not be possible. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number.
Can I cancel my order?
If your order has not yet been processed or dispatched, we may be able to cancel it. Once an order has shipped, cancellation is typically not possible. Please contact us promptly with your order number.
What happens if my order is returned to sender?
If a parcel is returned to sender (for example, due to an incorrect address, failed delivery attempts, or unpaid duties/taxes), we will follow the process outlined in our Shipping Policy and/or Returns Policy. This may include a re-shipping fee or a refund minus original shipping and any return-to-sender charges.
